At that time in Antigua, real estate that was offered for sale was done by word of mouth, and through unorganized “street vendors”, who knew little, if anything, about the requirements and legalities of purchasing properties. It was more of a buyer beware system, and the results could be disastrous, if the buyer was uninformed.
The lack of formality, plus establishing a resource that could compile various available properties for sale and rent, and also to establish reasonable property values, was one of the main reasons that lead to the opening of Antigua’s first professional real estate office.
The company is fully licensed and a community leader in offering assistance as required, operating on the business standards and ethics laid down by the US and Canada, to assure that the responsibility of transparency is available to both sellers and buyers, which are first and foremost in all negotiations.
Since 1992 the company has increased in scope and size, to become the largest and most recognized real estate company in Antigua, employing 11 full time bilingual operational and sales staff.
The company is divided in 4 different departments: rentals, residential developments, property management and sales.
In September of 2008, Casa Nova became affiliated with International branding, under the Century 21 label.
Century 21 Casa Nova is responsible for the formation of the Antigua Real Estate Board, and helped in the creation of a code of ethics for all other real estate companies to abide by.
As of November 2009, Century 21 Casa Nova is proud to offer their customers a second office, located a few steps away from Santa Catalina Arch on 5th. Avenida Sur.
Century 21 Casa Nova is an active member of the Guatemalan Real Estate Chamber (CCBRG) and a member of the board of directors of the new Antigua Guatemala Real Estate Chamber (CBRAG).
